It is a privilege for us to announce that David Prowse, MBE, is set to attend Oxford Comic Con on both days. David is best known for playing Darth Vader during the entirety of the original Star Wars trilogy. After Star Wars, David continued to work in television and film, making numerous appearances with the legendary Benny Hill. He continued to tour as the Green Cross Code Man and became the personal fitness trainer of many celebrities including Daniel Day-Lewis and Vanessa Redgrave. David has also trained actors for films, including Christopher Reeve for Superman (1978), written fitness books, and supported charities. David no longer attends international shows.
We are thrilled to announce that Colin Baker will be attending Oxford Comic Con this year on both days! Colin was the sixth incarnation of The Doctor in the long-running science fiction television series Doctor Who. Other television work includes his role as Paul Merroney in The Brothers as well as guest appearances in the BBC's medical drama Casualty, The Knock, Dangerfield, the first episode of Jonathan Creek, Channel 4's adaptation of A Dance to the Music of Time and as himself as the resident celebrity in 'Dictionary Corner' on the daytime quiz show Countdown, also on Channel 4. In 2003 Colin also appeared on Top Gear, participating on a one-lap run on the Top Gear track in a Honda Civic hatchback. He competed against a Klingon, a Cyberman, a Dalek, Darth Vader and Ming the Merciless. In 2012, he participated in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Tim Rose is an American actor and puppeteer most famous for his character Admiral Ackbar in Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Tim started his career with Jim Henson in New York working on Sesame Street. He was one of the forerunners of animatronic design and his many credits include several Muppet movies, Dinosaurs, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Return to OZ, Fierce Creatures, Walking with Dinosaurs, Spitting Image, Dr Who and the inimitable Howard the Duck. Tim has also recently been working with his old friend, Paul Zerdin, winner of America’s Got Talent 2015, on new puppets for his show. Tim will be attending on Saturday and giving a Q&A session.
WINTER IS COMING! We are thrilled that Ross Mullan will be attending OXCON on both days. Ross is best known as The WhiteWalker on HBO's Game of Thrones. He has also played on Dr. Who as The Silence (Time of the Doctor), The Teller (Time Heist) and a Wraith (Hell Bent). He was also in the Warner Brothers remake of Clash of the Titans where he plays Pemphredo, one of the three blind Stygian witches. Ross is also the voice and spirit behind Nev the Bear on CBBC's Bear Behaving Badly and plays the evil Numbertaker from Cbeebies hit show Numberjacks.
Jon Campling will be returning to OXCON on both days! Since we last saw him, Jon has been crowned King Regis in Final Fantasy XV and was the motion-capture actor of Ardyn Izunia in the same franchise. This is in addition to his memorable role as the Death Eater in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Ken famously played Jesus in Monty Python's Life of Brian and played Admiral Firmus Piett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Colley is the only actor to play the same Imperial officer in more than one Star Wars film. Ken will be at OXCON on the Saturday.
The lovely Virginia Hey will be coming back to OXCON! Award-nominated Virginia played the Warrior Woman in Mad Max 2, the blue priestess Zhaan in Farscape, Leigh Templar in Prisoner (Cell Block H) and the Bond girl “Rubivich” in The Living Daylights.
Hugh Spight will be joining us on both days at OXCON. Hugh was a puppeteer in Star Wars and Dr. Who. On Dr. Who he was a Dalek operator and in Star Wars he played a Gamorrean guard amongst others.
